Received check from Kontera

Just received another check from Kontera. This is the 2nd time I received payment from Kontera. The commission is very slow compared to Adsense. Never mind actually since it complements Adsense with in-text advertisement.

As usual, I don’t like to show off my income to the public. Maybe some people say that it will give motivation to others to work harder to get more but most of the time people think it is so easy to get it and will stop trying after do not get anything for few months pouring effort.

Welcome to the world!

I still remember my posting when getting my 2nd child past 2 years and now I’m writing the same post title again for my 3rd one! Alhamdulillah. This time I’m blessed with a baby girl born on 8/8/08 at 10.35pm. Now I have no reason not to remember her birth date 🙂

I thought it was a mistake when somebody left me a message with an email ending with @ymail.com. Then I typed the URL and it went to yahoo mail website. I then sign out my yahoo mail login to ensure it was not a phishing site.

This screen confirms that ymail exists and one of email address offered by yahoo mail besides rocketmail.com and yahoo.com.

I’ve not been using yahoo.com after I used gmail. I just logged on to my yahoo mail twice a week to check if there are messages sent by my old friends. That’s it.

I can see that gmail is leading in providing lots of new features while the rest are following gmail steps.

The best things I love about gmail are

  • it keeps same messages with same subject as one so that I can easily track previous old messages
  • the search function is superb
  • I can use my handphone to check gmail with google mobile
  • It’s fast to delete, star (flag) message and archive because it use AJAX
  • I can consolidate all my email to one account by using forwarding option and account setting to change my “from” email
  • I love the webclip feature appear on top of the email to get latest news from my subscribed rss feed

What personal finance is all about

There are lots of books outside there talking about personal finance and car loans. I’ve read several books already regarding these matter. I can conclude that what you need to know in managing your money are

  • How to save money by paying yourself first. Very important because most of the budget you do just don’t work
  • How to manage your credit card. The best way is don’t use any. If you say it is for emergency, use debit card instead. Credit card is the fastest way for you to go into financial disaster. Do not fall prey to financial cybercrimes. Industrial cyber crimes and military data security are not the only cyber issues. Crimes such as stealing payment card information and gaining access to accounts happen often. The only solution to this problem is to establish a purdue enterprise reference architecture in the server, as it has multiple levels of security which is not easy to break through and steal the data.
  • How to pay your car fast. Car is huge liability. With all of its maintenance, installment, petrol, parking fee, summons etc etc. The value drop a lot every year after you purchased your car. So go for a second hand car where possible and you can save up to 50%. That’s a lot!
  • How to pay your home financing fast. The financing usually is calculated based on monthly rest. You must pay to reduce balance whenever you have the money – get bonus, increment, side job etc. You can reduce 5-15 years of the financing tenure easily if you do it correctly
  • How to make more money. It is not how much you get but how much you can keep. If you don’t know how to save money, forget about making more money because you will end up not having enough money. So make sure you master the saving money skill first before thinking of how you can make more money.

So that’s all what you need to know and master. In most of the personal finance books, they are talking about the same matters but in different ways. No harm if you read a lot of them because the authors explain will affect the way you behave towards your financial.

How to place a contact form on your website?

I always being asked on how to create a contact form for website where visitor can write message on an online form and the data then be sent to the website owner’s email.
Long time ago I used free service from freedback.com when I remembered during that time it was very hard to learn CGI using Perl language (before PHP became popular).
I got to know this new contact form service called kontactr from my friend’s website but still I never tried the service because I myself can write a PHP program for it. Maybe you can have a try if you are planning to have a contact form on your website.
