Cheapest Wireless Broadband?

Date April 16, 2008

It is not the cheapest actually since you can get a wireless broadband access as low as RM68/mo with a bulky modem but I can say it is the cheapest in its class :) I did some survery with other wireless broadband and found that this offer is good.

With RM78/mo (with 2 year contract), you will get unlimited access + a USB HSDPA modem (worth about RM700). But I can’t guarantee the quality and coverage since U mobile is still new to the market (is it?) and never met anyone using u surf so far.
u surf

Check out u surf website - their website is quite impressive..
You will get 8-day money back guarantee if in case you are not satisfied with the service/coverage or whatever (pls read the TOS for this) so if you are thinking of getting one for your mobile needs, then this would be a good choice.
Maxis is offering RM138/mo for unlimited access with USB modem. But they are also offering “Power WiFi” for RM158/mo (not yet explore this one)

How to save money? What a question..

Date April 2, 2008

Nowadays people awareness on how important to save money rise. Everywhere people are talking about saving money, investing money etc.

But how you save your money? You stop smoking, you unsubscribe your astro, you do your own meal. Then at the end of the month, how much you save? Where is the money? Do you still spend all your monthly income?
Let do some simple calculation. If you save $200 per month by swithcing from travelling with car to travelling by bus you will save $2400 a year! But usually people don’t see the RM2400 at the end of the year. Where does the money go?

The right way to save money is first list down all what you can save for the month. Let say you want to cut your spending by stop smoking, use public transport, unsubscribe astro, cook your own meal etc. Your total saving is RM400.

When you get your paycheck, first thing to do (yes FIRST thing to do) is to put aside that RM400 before you pay any bills, loans etc. Make sure you put it away to your other account (without ATM card) if you inted to save the money. Otherwise it can’t be saved.

That’s how simple it is if you want to see your saving grow. Yet a lot of people failed to see the money they ’saved’. Because they just don’t save the money.
Do a planning for the saved money. Whether you want to allocate for investment later on, emergency fund, paying debt etc.

This way you can see the amount of money you actually saved and where does the money go with new allocation plan.

How to get more money from what you already have?

Date March 15, 2008

When you have a business or any source of income, probably the most common ways to get more money is to find another source of income. But do you think that you have getting the fullest from your current source of income.

Below are some things you might want to consider to get even more with the same source you have.

1. Get more leads.

Leads generate customers. It is a number game, when you have more leads, you will get more customers means more money! If you are having a internet business website, get more traffic to your site.

2. Improve your conversion rate

If now from 100 visitors that visit your site, only 2 will purchase from you (2% conversion), then try to improve it to maybe 5-10% conversion. Add testimonials, package your products, give discount etc etc.

3. Increase your ticket price

If now you are selling a product form RM10, try to add some value to it and increase it to RM30. So that you will have a minimum purchase value of RM30 instead of RM10! This is easy but do it very carefully. You must justify why you add your price otherwise your customer will run away to your competitor

4. Sell again to your existing customers!

Don’t forget about your existing customers. They already purchased from you. They have the money and they trust you by being your customer. Why not you offer them some other products of yours to them? It is easier than trying to close sale for new customers.

5. Increase your profit margin

Now you are getting 30% profit margin from product you sell. For example, you take the product from manufacturer at RM70 and you sell at RM100. You get RM30 (30%) as gross profit. Why not you find another manufacturer that can give you RM50 for the same products OR you can neogotiate with your current manufacturer to give a better margin OR maybe you can learn the technology and become manufacturer of that product!

Now you think you can get more money? NO way!

..unless you do the above… :) All the best!
